Who should use inSpec?

inSpec is for any plumbing professional who wants a quick and easy way to specify Zurn solutions.

How do I start using inSpec?

To get started, simply create your free account. Check your inbox for a validation email. Then, set up your profile and password to start specifying your next project.

What products can be specified in inSpec?

Our portfolio of commercial plumbing products are available in the tool. New products will be added on a regular basis.

Why does the 'Specify Your Project' button take me to the account registration page?

You must be a registered user and signed into your account to get started. Once you’re signed in, this button will allow you to specify a project.

What are shared projects?

A shared project means someone on your team has added you to a project. You must have the same company email domain to share projects. Once added, you can edit, copy, and collaborate on these projects.

How do I share a project?

Go to your project list and select the project you would like to share. Then, click the share icon within the blue header. For more information, please view this video. *You must have the same company email domain to share with colleagues and if you’ve registered with a public email domain sharing is not available.

Why don't I see the share icon?

If you are registered with a public email domain (e.g., Google, Yahoo, etc.), the sharing function is not available. Please re-register using a non-public email domain, such as your corporate email address.

Who can access my projects?

All projects are confidential. Only colleagues you’ve added or ‘shared’ your projects with can access them.

Can I send inSpec information with people outside of my company?

Yes, our email function allows you to send spec sheets and plumbing schedules to any individual, inside or outside of your company. These people do not need to have your company email domain, like the share function requires.

Why copy a project?

Projects can be copied for numerous locations or various clients. This will reduce duplicated efforts for projects with similar building types or product configurations.

How do I copy a project?

Go to your project list and select the project you would like to copy. Then, click the copy icon within the blue header. For more information, please view this video.

How do I find out more about the products featured in inSpec?

inSpec provides direct access to additional product information, including specification drawings and other documentation.

What information does inSpec provide for each specification?

You can quickly access your plumbing schedule, spec sheets, BIM files, master spec, and drawing files from one simple screen.

How do I edit a project?

Go to your project list and click the project you would like to edit. Then, click on the edit icon within the blue header. For more information, please view this video.

What is 'my basis of design'?

My basis of design allows you to create an organized list of all the specifications you frequently use for projects. This is an easy way to add those products into your projects as needed.

Why can’t I use inSpec on Internet Explorer?

You can use inSpec on Internet Explorer, but not all functionalities are available within that browser. Things like copy, share and delete are not available. If you would like to use those functionalities, please use the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge.

What happens when I share a project?

An email notification will be sent to your chosen recipient with a link to the project you’re sharing. If the person you shared a project with is not currently an inSpec user, that individual will need to create an account first.

What happens when I email a project?

An email notification will be sent to your chosen recipient with a link to the documents you’re providing. This individual will not need to be an inSpec user to access the documents you emailed.
